In recent years, the ties between Kazakhstan and the Baltic States have been strengthening, particularly against the backdrop of increasing trade volume and freight transportation. Recently, new records have been announced: the number of permits for road transportation between Kazakhstan and the Baltic States—Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia—has reached 29,000, which is an unprecedented figure.

This success was reinforced by a recent working visit of the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, M. Karabayev, to Tallinn, where negotiations took place with his Estonian counterpart, K. Michal. Important issues regarding the development of transportation links, transit potential, and mutual utilization of logistical infrastructure were discussed. Following the meeting, a protocol was signed, outlining key directions for further deepening cooperation in the transportation sector.

Additionally, an economic seminar was organized during the visit, highlighting Kazakhstan's transit potential, including the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. The event facilitated B to B meetings with leading representatives of transportation and logistics companies from both countries, including railway operators and port authorities.

The delegation also visited the Port of Tallinn and the shipbuilding enterprise BLRT, where they familiarized themselves with modern transportation infrastructure and production facilities. These visits underscore Kazakhstan and Estonia's commitment to strengthening economic partnership and expanding cooperation in the transportation sector, which contributes to further enhancing mutually beneficial relations and reinforcing regional stability.
