New Attractions at Narva Museum: Summer 2024 Highlights and Visitor Ex

The Narva Museum, renowned for its historical exhibits and unique architecture, has announced new plans for the summer season aimed at attracting more visitors and increasing the institution's revenue. This year, the focus is on domestic tourism, which is expected to compensate for the loss of foreign tourists due to closed borders.

Starting Monday, the renovated Northern Courtyard is open to visitors, offering the chance to try their hand at blacksmithing or fishing. These innovations, according to museum staff, will not only diversify the usual tour format but also add a unique touch to the overall visitor experience.

Interactive Immersion in History This year, special attention is given to the forge in the Northern Courtyard, which has now been transformed into an exhibition hall. Visitors can don an apron, grab a hammer, and work on a real anvil, allowing them to delve deeper into the history and culture of the region.

Maria Smorzhevskikh-Smirnova, Director of the Narva Museum, shared: "We are a border town, and it is clear that transit tourists are not coming now. However, we see great interest in the museum from domestic tourists, especially on summer days, when up to 700 people visit us daily."

Fishing as a New Marketing Move Another interesting novelty is the organization of fishing in the Northern Courtyard, which the museum team considers not just entertainment but also a powerful marketing tool. "Fish is already associated with Narva, and this is a good way to draw attention to our museum," noted marketing manager Darya Boyarova.

Future Plans This is just the beginning of major changes, as the renovation of the Western Courtyard of the Narva Fortress is expected to be completed in June, undoubtedly adding even more appeal to the museum.

The Narva Museum is actively preparing for the summer season, hoping to attract more visitors and strengthen its position as an important cultural center in the region.
